CARLA MAE MORTEL
(added 08-May-2010)

Carla Mae Mortel is a six year old girl who was the valedictorian at our March 2010 graduation ceremony in Mamburao. She lives in a local village with her father, Mr. Jhay Mortel, who is a fisherman and her mother, Mrs. Myra Mortel, who is a housewife. She has one older brother, an elementary pupil.

Carla is a very intelligent, talented and a studious girl. Her mother said that she spent more time studying than in the other things that a young girl normally does, like watching TV and playing. During weekends, she stays in her room to do her homework and study for her lessons. She joined our school when she was three years old girl at the time that we were renting the building belonging to Brother Benny.

During our school programmes she's also the one who leads her classmates in a word of prayer. Her stay in our school can be considered very worthwhile, and we can genuinely say that she is now ready to enter Grade I.

During the graduation ceremony she acted as little MC, calling the graduation candidates forward to receive their certificates. At that time she received three medals; one for being the Valedictorian, the second medal for being the Best in Mathematics and the third for being the Best in Writing. She also delivered her speech clearly and fluently in English, which really amazed the audience. Her family and relatives were there and we could see in their faces how very proud they were of Carla.

Her family wants to extend their thanks to Hosea Ministry for the help that you have given them. Her parents are very happy because Carla learned a lot from our school especially in her spiritual life, because before reviewing her lessons she never forgets to pray and ask the help of God. Carla learned that before doing anything you should pray to succeed.
